About Me

My name is Spencer Baucke and I love using data to help myself and others better understand the world in which we live.

Raised in Loveland, OH I have a B.A. in Economics from the University of Colorado and a M.S. in Finance from the University of Cincinnati. I am a Principal Consultant and Power BI lead at Tessellation Consulting. My previous work experience includes several years in banking, a stint at the City of Cincinnati’s Office of Performance and Analytics, and time with both GE Capital and GE Digital.

In addition to my day job, I have worked closely with education non-profit StriveTogether in a consulting role, including the honor of speaking at the University of Cincinnati’s Analytics for Social Good Day in 2017. I am a co-founder of the Tableau initiative #SportsVizSunday, which helps connect sports fans across the data analytics and data viz communities through Twitter.

I also enjoy staying active in the community. From 2013-2017 I had the immense honor of coaching varsity football at Shroder High School. During my five years as coach we earned the first home playoff game in Cincinnati Public School’s history (also Shroder’s first football playoff appearance) and had a record of 25-25. Additionally, I have been a Public Allies mentor and am active in my local community council.

The past couple of years I have dove head first into the world of big data, particularly through Tableau. I have used other programs such as Spotfire and OBIEE, but I love the flexibility and room for creativity that Tableau provides users. I am a regular contributor to my Tableau Public profile and the larger Tableau community via Twitter.
